Guangfulin is located 6 kilometers northwest of Songjiang City, on the east bank of Chenshantang. It is a large-scale cultural heritage park based on Guangfulin culture built by the Songjiang District Government of Shanghai for ten years.

In 2013, it was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. Carrying the thousand-year history of Shanghai, it is a cultural treasure known as the "root of Shanghai".

The entire park covers an area of 60 hectares. The architectural style of the park is based on the perfect combination of ancient civilization and modern facilities. It is retro and exquisite, and the garden-like scenery is magnificent and fresh and graceful.

In the lighting design, based on the history and culture of Guangfulin, the light and shadow are deeply integrated with architecture and culture to show the vicissitudes and changes of Guangfulin' and ancient legends, and create a unique charm of Shanghai's roots.

As a LED outdoor lighting system solution provider, Roleds is fortunate to participate in lighting up the Guangfulin Hezhang Resort, light and shadow are applied to fix Guangfulin’s thousand-year history and culture.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

The total construction area of Resort is about 40,000 square meters, which integrates a hot spring resort, an office and a conference center.

The overall architectural style is based on gasso-style, herringbone roof, creatively using Chinese clay slabs instead of traditional straws.

In history, Guangfulin has always been a land of fish and rice, where Liangzhu culture and Central Plains culture permeate each other and blend in with each other.

Based on the collision of the southern rice culture of Guangfulin and the northern rice culture, the unique style of Guangfulin Gasshang Resort has been created.

The lighting project is based on the design concept of "restore the life scene with cultural thickness and reproduce the situational experience that travels through time and space", to show the charm of the building to the greatest extent through light and shadow.

Combining the characteristics of village life at sunrise and sunset, the lights are smoky, and the simplicity and comfort, the change in light echoes the migration and circulation of time.

The sloping and stacked roof, the externally supported column structure and the herringbone eave outline are the important key points of the project design.

According to the natural rules of the rising and falling of the sun, lighting is used to simulate the light performance of the building, echoing the spiritual core of the building's retro, showing the cultural heritage of Guangfulin.

At the same time, we focus on the lighting design concept, through the rigorous control of the brightness and the angle of light in different areas of the inclined roof, to simulate the light performance of the building to daylight and create the effect of layering and retreating.

We adjust the brightness of the lights in different time periods through intelligent control to show the mysterious charm of the building under different light effects in 24 hours.

The herringbone eaves are outlined with the help of wallwashers, and the design with gradual diminishing brightness at both ends highlights the top of the building, creating an orderly layered and staggered visual experience, highlighting the atmosphere of the village.

The design proposal is based on its own needs, and the overall lighting is mainly based on warm colors.

In the course of the project, in order to ensure that the lamps and the architectural style are harmoniously blended, Roleds customized exclusive hoods for the lamps to prevent glare, so that there is no light during the day and only light at night.

Through repeated tests on each node of the installation, while ensuring the light effect, it creates a human-oriented sensory light and shadow, and creates a comfortable and natural lighting effect.

LIGHT GUANGFULIN HEZHANG RESORT

At the same time as the completion of the project, the mystery of Guangfulin Relics Park was also unveiled. The shape of light shuttled here and historical scenes reappeared, as if it took us to experience the paradise of Guangfulin through thousands of years.
